Holidays on Main
On December 5, 2019, the annual Holidays on Main was celebrated in Old Wethersfield. The much-anticipated event, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Wethersfield, draws thousands of participants each year. Carolers kicked-off the evening by the tree at Main and Marsh Street, followed by opening remarks from Mayor Amy Bello. Santa then arrived by fire truck and the holiday tree lighting commenced.
The Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum held a silent auction at The Webb Barn, with the proceeds shared with the Town of Wethersfield Social and Youth Services Department. Also in The Webb Barn was a free wine tasting and Craft Beer Garden! In a tent in front of The Webb House, we held a teacup raffle featuring four large gift baskets and two terrariums. Included in the gift baskets were Hartford Stage tickets, restaurant gift certificates, museum memberships and passes, as well as toys, Christmas items, and chocolates.
Additional festivities along Main Street included fire juggling, the Colonel Chester Fife and Drum, horse and wagon rides at Heirloom Market, The Winter Farmer’s Market, several of the best food vendors & trucks in Connecticut, and more!
