October 17, 2018 Semi-Annual Meeting & Luncheon Celebrating the 125th Anniversary of NSCDA-CT Founding

The Dames celebrated its 125th Anniversary on October 17, 2018 at the Webb Barn, Wethersfield, CT.  In typical Dames “fashion”, festive hats were worn while a lovely cake and a Champagne Toast marked the occasion.  The educational program was presented by PhD Candidate, Willie Granston, History of Art & Architecture at Boston University.  “A Story of Sunshine and Shadow:  Elizabeth H. Colt and the Crafting of the Colt Legacy in Hartford” was a delightful, albeit sometimes sobering view of Elizabeth Colt’s marriage and children and her philanthropy  in the areas of historical preservation and art.  Charles Lyle, Executive Director of the Webb Deane Stevens Museum provided a progress report of the Visitor and Education Center.
