Preserving our Heritage for the Next 250 Years
NSCDA-CT members have a proud tradition of safeguarding and protecting what is sacred – from our founding ideals to the objects and artifacts that represent our nation. Historic preservation remains a vital cornerstone of our mission and civic calling.
We now have an opportunity to put Patriotic service into action by banding together to replace the roofs on two of our historic houses, which we have owned and operated as part of the Webb Deane Stevens Museum for more than 100 years. We have a goal to raise $50,000 to safeguard these historic treasures.
The Joseph Webb (1752) and Isaac Stevens (1789) Houses offer unparalleled, intimate, and unique examples of the evolution of military, political, and democratic life during the Revolution and the early days of the Republic. After decades of weathering and wear, they now need our support to preserve and protect them – and the stories they bring to life for generations to come.
What greater legacy can we leave than ensuring these national treasures remain intact for the next 250 years? By addressing this urgent need now, we demonstrate our commitment to preserving the authentic experiences and educational opportunities these historic sites provide.
