Happy 250th Birthday, America! Come to the party!
Our May 2026 Annual Meeting and Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, May 20 at 11:00 AM in the Webb Barn. This event is $50.00 per person. Mark your calendars and join us for a patriotic celebration and learn more about Connecticut’s participation in the Revolutionary War. (Yes! There will be cake–but maybe not 250 candles!)
Formal invitations are to be sent out by mail, though we welcome you to purchase your ticket online below.
“Connecticut and the American Revolution” will be presented by Matt Warshauer. When studying the beginning of the American Revolution, most people think of Massachusetts, with the Tea Party, Lexington and Concord, and the Battle of Bunker Hill. But what about Connecticut? Where was the Provision State in the colonial disagreement with England? Matt Warshauer will give us an intriguing look at Connecticut’s mood and actions leading to the Declaration of Independence and why we were prepared to be the Provision State.
Matt Warshauer is a Professor of History at Central Connecticut State University, where he received his BA in American Studies. Professor Warshauer pursued an MA and Ph.D. at Saint Louis University. He has authored numerous books and articles on the topics of self-government, Andrew Jackson, slavery and the Civil War, and most recently, 9/11.
We look forward to welcoming our new members at the meeting!
